Out of their way to escape reality
Calling out for no one as they get tied into the web
All along with everyone else
Laughing through the lonliness
Yelling through the content
Posting updates breakfast lunch and dinner
So no one will know the truth
Everyone struggling to be better than the next
Oblivious to the outside world happening
From the point of view of flickering screens
Not caring about fellow humans
Engulfed with little trival games about nothing
Gliding throuh life easily, no understanding
Living day to day not utilizing their time
Indiffrent as long as you feel the captors by your side
Going through the motions every day and night
Even allowing ourselves to miss opportunities
Never relying on anyone other than the little computer box
Capturing our souls, shattering our physical existance
This is so the way I see social media, everyone putting up a slanted version of their reality, always in competition it seems: "Posting updates breakfast lunch and dinner/So no one will know the truth/Everyone struggling to be better than the next."
